Christmas 1997 was the end of my Electronics Boutique days. The last two months of the year are kind of a blur to me now. I was going to college full-time while working two retail jobs (one of those was also full-time). Except for one death march software project in 2010, it was the most hours I've worked in my life.

It also means I'm extremely un-nostalgic about 1997. A while ago on The Retro League we did an episode about our favorite games of 1997 and all I could think of was Virtual Springfield. That's kind of pathetic because looking back there were a few gems. OK, maybe not Barbie's Magic Hair Styler.

Seriously, why is Barbie's Magic Hair Styler on the cover? If they were trying to appeal to girls it seems downright sexist.

Anyway, that's an incredible number of golf courses. Owning them all would set you back $80.

I'm positive no one except me finds scans of old coupons remotely interesting. Go ahead and scroll down to get to the PlayStation and PC games.

Seriously, why haven't you scrolled down yet?

I mean these deals aren't even that good - you should really move on.

Sure 25% off a virtual pet sounds like an OK bargain but they'd be 90% off in January.

The rest of the catalog sections are just a little further - go look at something fun already.
