Trophy Room 2018
This was just an awful year, I'm sorry. I didn't do much hunting due to having a very busy year in all other aspects of life. I don't know if this will be the last year I post, we'll see what 2019 brings.
Pac-Man motion lamp
This sort of makes up for not finding anything else good. I stopped by an estate sale, that otherwise had no gaming items, and spotted this weird Pac-Man lamp. They wanted $30 and I debated for a minute. It looked like an item from the early 80s so I figured it couldn't be some tacky thing bought at Spencer's yesterday. I really had no clue what it was.
Then I thought - "if there's a retro gaming item I've never seen before it's probably extremely rare". So I shelled out the $30. After poking around online I found that this is indeed rare. There were no eBay listings for it and very scarce documentation about it anywhere. It seems to have been made in 1980 which would be very early in the Pac-Man lifecycle. It is fragile so I assume the vast majority didn't survive long.
I don't know what it might normally go for but at $30 I think it just might be a great deal.
Konami Arcade Advanced
This was at a yard sale that seemed to be about 99% trash. I don't mean trashy items, I mean stuff they should have just thrown out. I don't know why I didn't turn around. They had some GBA stuff but the only appealing (not destroyed) thing was this flattened yet still shrink-wrapped copy of Konami Arcade Advanced. This is a thing I will actually play a bunch so it was worth the stop.
Games I didn't buy at Toys 'r Us
Since 2018 was such a light year here's a picture of something I didn't buy - 50+ copies of Tony Hawk 5 at a Toys 'r Us that was closing in a week. This game must be terrible. I went to every Toys 'r Us closing in my area when games were 50% off and got a few nice things for the PlayStation 4 and Wii U. I should have taken photos of those just to have something else on this page.
